The Helsinki Vampires are ready to take over Luxembourg with a sleazy blend of post-apocalyptic rock‘n’roll ... and they’re out for YOUR blood, baby.

Formed in Helsinki’s rock clubs back in the early 90s, the five-piece take their influences from far and wide. Elvis Presley, The Misfits, Guns ‘n’ Roses and a hefty dose of The Sisters of Mercy can all be heard throughout their music. From comic books to cult movies they capture the rock ‘n’ roll zeitgeist and turn it into the sort of music that makes you want to party hard.

In 1999, the future turned Goth, heralding a deal with Roadrunner Records in Europe and the release of ‘Wasting The Dawn’ (including a young Ville Valo on backing vocals). The album "Blessed Be" came out the following year and featured the club anthem ‘Gothic Girl’ which changed everything. Months on the Singles Charts TOP 10 in Europe "GOTHIC GIRL" brought the first gold record to the band and leaving a trail of broken bottles and women behind them. The second single from the album was "BRANDON LEE" which also became a huge power-play radio hit and stayed 14 weeks in the TOP 20. The video for became one the most requested videos for months on the German music channel VIVA2.

This was followed by arguably their most gothic album to date, ‘Paris Kills’ which was to be their last studio CD on Roadrunner and their second gold disc. It later turned platinum.

As the moon of 2004 grew full, the band was snapped up by EMI/Virgin Records and the album ‘Devils’ was released. It was the disc that took The 69 Eyes from Helsinki to Hollywood. The key single, ‘The Lost Boys’ was based around the cult ‘80s vampire rock movie of the same name and the video was shot by Jackass director Bam Margera.

Almost three years of solid touring followed, taking The 69 Eyes to Hell(sinki) and back via 16 countries incl. England, Tokyo, Germany, Sweden and touring first time ever the USA with a sold out show at the legendary Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood. They also appeared on the American Television show "Last Call with Carson Daly".
Then there were poster campaigns, guest DJ slots, television appearances and the publication of vocalist Jyrki 69’s comic book, ‘Zombie Love’. The tide was high and the band was surfing zombies on the waves. The singer of the band is also a well known spokesperson for UNICEF and even UNICEF Ambassador of Finland. He got also awarded as The Outstanding Young Persons of the World (TOYP) in Seoul, South Korea in November 2006.

In 2007 The 69 Eyes have released their Hollywood album, called simply ‘Angels’ and it’s dripping blood and gasoline. The band played 125 shows world wide in 2007.

The 69 Eyes now return in 2009 with their ninth studio album ‘Back In Blood’, which has been hailed a latter-day ‘Appetite For Destruction’. With blood on their hands and AC/DC on their stereo, the bloodsuckers have combined their past to focus on the future. And if you’re into vampires, you’ll enjoy it even more... The first single will be the tongue-in-cheek ‘Dead Girls Are Easy’ – a nasty power anthem for sleazy pin-ups complete with a sing-a-long chorus aimed at those online chicks with the looks that kill! The video has been directed again by close friend Bam Margera.

The secret behind The 69 Eyes success is their refusal to compromise. From the band logo, artwork and the songs themselves, no one tells this band where they're going. They know their own way, thanks. In fact, all four of their latest albums have not only charted at number one but also reached gold status in Scandinavia.
